HEFNU Lessons and Legacies Conference

November 2024, Los Angeles, CA

Graduate Training

In 2023, I began a PhD at The University of California, Los Angeles, working under Professor Michael Rothberg in The Department of Comparative Literature and the Working Group in Memory Studies. At UCLA I research movements for repair from state and racialized violence in the United States and Germany, utilizing critical race & diaspora studies frameworks.

I am grateful for the many individuals and institutions who helped make my journey into graduate school possible, especially my mentors in the Department of African and African American Studies at Brandeis University, and my teachers and colleagues at Fulbright Germany and Freie Universität Berlin.

I look forward to continuing to bridge my academic, political, and religious worlds by linking my scholarship with communities organizing on the ground. Please feel free to contact me for any projects related to these themes, or to meet up in LA.
